MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
of the Town of Wembley, in the Province of Alberta
held in the Wembley Municipal Office
this 14th day of October, 2014.
CALL-TO-ORDER Mayor Turnmire called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.

Moved by Councillor Holler that the agenda be adopted as presented.
ADOPTION OF MINUTES
MOTION # 2014-0225
Moved by Councillor Johnson that the minutes of the regular meeting held on September 22, 2014 be adopted as presented.
5.1 MOTION # 2014-0226
Moved by Councillor Johnson that the accounts payable, as identified in Schedule "A", cheque # 20140862 to cheque # 20140952 totaling $310,294.32 be ratified.
5.2 MOTION # 2014-0227
Motion by Councillor Robichaud that the Monthly Statement and the Revenue and Expense Statement for the month of September 2014 be approved.
8. CAO REPORT
8.1 The CAO advised that the new Town Website is up and running.

Moved by Councillor Holler that the following reports be accepted as information:

9.3 Minutes of the Community Futures meeting held on May 8, 2014
9.4 Peace Library System Board Meeting Highlights held on September 20, 2014

9.6 County Enforcement and Animal Control report for the month of
10.1 Information was received from the Wembley & District Agricultural Society advising that the 8th Annual Wonderland of Trees will be held on December 4th – December 6th. The Snowflake Gala will be held on Saturday, December 6th.
10.2 Letter received from PARDS advising that the 17th Annual Dine and Dance fundraising event will be held on November 1st, 2014 at Five Mile Hall. PARDS will be celebrating 30 years of serving the Grande Prairie and area community.
10.3 Proclamation request was received from United Way.
MOTION # 2014-0229 Moved by Councillor Johnson that Mayor Turnmire proclaim October 30, 2014 as "United Way Day".
10.4 Proposed project information letter was received from Encana regarding a proposed Encana Pad Site on 13-7-71-8 W6M.
MOTION # 2014-0230 Moved by Councillor Johnson that the Town of Wembley has no objections to the proposed Encana Pad Site on 13-7-71-8 W6M and that the CAO be authorized to sign the consent form on behalf of the Town of Wembley.
11.1 County of Grande Prairie No. 1 Joint Home Support Program Service Agreement was reviewed.
MOTION # 2014-0231 Moved by Councillor Robichaud that the Mayor and CAO be authorized to sign the 2015 Joint Home Support Program Service Agreement.
11.2 Development Agreement for the installation of an approach on Lot 1, Block 1, Plan 062 3141 was tabled.
11.3 The 2014 Christmas Party was discussed.
MOTION # 2014-0232 Moved by Councillor Johnson that for the town Christmas Party, Snowflake Gala tickets will be purchased for council members, staff and their spouses.
Councillor Johnson advised on the AUMA Convention. Networking was very valuable.
The CAO advised that the Finance Clerk position has been filled.CAO advised that she and Mayor Turnmire attended the Water West Steering Committee meeting that was held on October 9, 2014.Councillor Robichaud advised that next week is "Small Business Week" in Grande Prairie and that her business has been nominated to receive an award.Councillor Johnson is pleased that a meeting with the RCMP has been scheduled.Councillor Holler advised that Communities in Bloom have received the CIB judges report and that the town received four blooms.Mayor Turnmire advised:That the RCMP District Commander will be attending the November 24th Council Meeting as a delegation to discuss policing concerns.That he attended the Helen E Taylor School "Dare to Care" program on October 2nd and 3rd. Mayor Turnmire provided a handout "The Truth About Drugs" to all members present.
